The first issue of Chandamama (1947-2013) was published 70 years ago this month, July 1947. This year we also celebrates 50 years of the Amar Chitra Katha.  

Chandamama has appeared on this blog a few times earlier- for instance here on July 1 2007-  because it was such an important part of my childhood. (Amar Chitra Katha was NOT.)

    चांदोबा हे ५० ते ६० या काळातल्या शाळकरी मुलांचे विश्व होते असे म्हटले तर अतिशयोक्ती होणार नाही. मद्रास येथून निघणा-या या मासिकाने येथील सर्वच मुलांची मासिके काबीज केली होती. आता हे मासिक कुठे आहे काय करते आहे ? हे आणि असे प्रश्न पडतात. आमच्या एके काळाच्या आठवणी, अनिरुद्धजी, आपण जागवल्यात.
