Migratory Birds Have Started Returning from Pune

Pudhari पुढारी February 21, 2008 reported that birds that came over to Pune this winter, from far off places like Africa, Mangolia, Siberia, Tibet etc had started returning.

I have a question for them…

Lazy species like me would surely stay put.

  1. Dear Aniruddha,
I recently read about migration of Monarch butterflies from Mexico to Canada, which about 3000 miles and it is completed by their next generation. This is one unique migration. So, this migration in Pune is nothing.

  2. Mangesh,

Why compare at all? Just enjoy both.

Also the point of the post was "returning back" and not migration per se.

  3. If i were a bird i would fly south instead of spening the winter cold and wet
